Selling Products Online

E-commerce refers to the selling and buying of goods and services through the internet. Advancements in technology have seen it grow exponentially over the last twenty years such that we now take for granted being able to order something from the comfort of our homes and have it delivered. This has led to a situation where businesses with their own products need to sell online in order to compete, and where there are opportunities for businesses without their own products to also sell online.

The most common method of doing this is called dropshipping. This is where a business owner finds products from suppliers to sell online, but does not actually order any products until they make a sale to the customer first. The dropship supplier will then ship the item directly to the customer, so the business owner doesn’t even need to handle the stock themselves. It is one of the best ways to get started with an online business as it doesn’t involve spending money up front on stock, and you don’t need space to store products as you never handle them yourself.
